Behaviour is good. Pupils enjoy coming to school and are keen to learn. They get on well with
each other and their teachers and feel very safe in school and attend well. OFSTED 2013

Our daily approach to phonics is delivered through the  Letters and Sounds Scheme of Work. This is planned daily in the foundation unit to cover the diverse range of needs for the nursery and reception class. These sessions can take the form of listening games and activities  for the  younger children and a more structured lesson for the older children as they move thorough the different Phases of Learning. Within year 1 and 2 daily phonics lessons are planned using the same scheme of work and are differentiated for the different  ability levels within the mixed age class.

Year 1 children take part in the phonics screening checks yearly. The results have been very positive:  2013  93% pass rate and  2014 93% pass rate. In  2015 we achieved a 100% pass rate. This brings school into the top 2% high achieving school nationally. for phonics teaching.
